The Oregon Trail Deluxe is a new and improved version of the Oregon Trail in 1992. It has improved graphics, sound, and other elements that extend the gameplay of the original. Still, you might still enjoy the original because of its originality and familiarity.

In The Oregon Trail Deluxe player must cross the oregon trail and fight against the difficulties the settlers had. Hunting for food, trading supplies, survive LOTS of possible deaths (snakes, typhoid, dysentry...).

Should you succeed in your journey, your points will be based on your profession, the number of settlers still alive, your remaining cash and much more.

Oregon Trail was played by a lot of American people born in the eighties and the game stay into memory as one hard, unforgiving and unbeatable game. Some family would eventually play the game together and children in school would even make competition over who got the farthest before dying in the game!

Summary

If I had to make a list of ten formative experiences of being a grade-school aged kid in the late 1980s in the US, playing Oregon Trail (probably on an Apple IIe in the school library) as one of the first, if not the first, experiences, ever, with a computer would be on that list. 

And Number Munchers, another very important MECC game.
